The production of electricity is part and parcel of modern society because electricity powers virtually all our services and the requirements for the production of goods. Therefore, Axpo AG wishes to act responsibly and to provide its customers with reliable, clear information.

An eco-balance documents the environmental effect of a product or service throughout its entire lifecycle. Axpo AG has compiled an Environmental Product Declaration of this nature for the Beznau nuclear power plant and is in the process of auditing some of its other power stations.

Ongoing reduction in environmental impact is among the most important aspects of the Axpo sustainability policy. Reducing greenhouse gases throughout the entire production cycle is one of the main objectives of our efforts. An Environmental Product Declaration offers a reliable basis for demonstrating the quantitative environmental impact based on a variety of environmental indicators throughout the production cycle.
