Wildegg-Brugg
Low-pressure run-of-river power station on the River Aare
With an output of 50 MW, the Wildegg-Brugg power station uses the slope of the River Aare over a distance of 9.35 km. The plant was built by Axpo AG, formerly NOK, between 1949 and 1953. The average annual electricity production is around 286m kWh. The concession area comprises unspoilt riverside woodland with natural conservation zones and constitutes a popular area for walkers and for people recharging their batteries.
The water which is discharged into the course of the Old Aare is used by a weir turbine.
