Kraftwerke Ilanz AG
Storage and run-of-river power station in the Anterior Rhine Valley
Ilanz/Glion (GR)-based Kraftwerke Ilanz, which were built from 1984 to 1992, is a plant which is co-owned by the Graubünden cantonal authority, the concession authorities and Axpo AG. The 50m franc share capital is divided as follows: 85% Axpo AG, 10% cantonal authority, 5% concession authorities.
The two independent power station stages, Panix and Tavanasa, use the inflow in the catchment area of the Anterior Rhine, as well as part of the turbined water from Kraftwerke Vorderrhein (Anterior Rhine Power Stations). The Panix reservoir is used primarily for the purposes of daily and weekly compensation. With an output of 87 MW, Kraftwerke Ilanz permit energy to be produced adapted in line with requirements. It produces a mean of around 280m kWh of electricity every year.
Hydro Surselva AG sees to the operational running of the installations. The managerial mandate is held by Axpo Hydro Energy.
