Green IT other solutions

Other solutions for making the company IT more sustainable:

It goes without saying that Axpo Informatik will continue to endeavor to help its customers realize the potential for savings with new ICT solutions. For example, we are using less and less fuel by using modern video conference solutions. Leaving the car behind or avoiding taking flights – in an age of climate change this is the type of option which is also reflected in the value of a company.

Other options arise in simple measures such as making two-sided printing the default printer setting, thereby reducing paper consumption by about 30 percent. Or if invoices are sent electronically, this will not only save on paper and envelopes, it will also save on postage.

The most effective way of lowering energy consumption is to switch off equipment if it is going to be out of use for a lengthy period of time. In the case of shorter absences, it makes sense to put it in standby or idle mode. This applies to PCs and notebooks, as well as to peripherals such as monitors and printers.

However, the actions of the user ultimately determine whether a workplace PC becomes an energy-saving PC.
